The cgSARVA tool helps U.S. Coast Guard decision makers and analysts understand the risks, efficiencies and benefits of reallocating or reducing various types of resources across mission areas and geographic locations.
"THE CGSARVA TOOL IS ESPECIALLY HELPFUL IN GUIDING OPERATIONS AND RESOURCE DECISIONS BY CAREFULLY ANALYZING DATA IN A WAY THAT ENSURES THE BEST RETURN ON INVESTMENT. THIS PROJECT SERVES AS A GREAT EXAMPLE OF POSITIVE PARTNERSHIPS THAT ARE BEING FORGED BETWEEN THE COAST GUARD, THE DHS CENTER OF EXCELLENCE, AND ACADEMIA."
RET. VICE-ADMIRAL ROBERT C. PARKER
COMMANDER U.S. COAST GUARD ATLANTIC AREA (LANTAREA)
The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) used cgSARVA during Superstorm Sandy to determine how to reallocate resources in light of damage caused to USCG stations in New Jersey. In April 2013, the USCG accredited cgSARVA for USCG-wide use.
