Minority Serving Institutions
The S&T Directorate has developed significant engagements with Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs). University Programs strongly supports the participation of MSIs in the Centers of Excellence Program as partners and as lead institutions.
In March 2008, the Office of University Programs announced the establishment of five new Centers. Eleven schools were named co-leads for these new COEs, five of the schools are MSIs from around the country. The eight other COEs have long-standing partnerships with numerous MSIs.
