12th Annual Research & Industrial Collaboration Conference (RICC) at Northeastern University

Please join ALERT on October 13, 2011 for the 12th annual Research & Industrial Collaboration Conference (RICC) at Northeastern University. The RICC is the perfect setting for dialog among members of the academic, industrial and government communities. This year's event is coordinated by:

Awareness & Localization of Explosives-Related Threats (ALERT), a Department of Homeland Security Center of Excellence
Puerto Rico Testsite to Explore Contamination Threats (PROTECT), a National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences' Center
The Bernard M. Gordon Center for Subsurface Sensing & Imaging Systems (Gordon-CenSSIS), a National Science Foundation Engineering Research Center

This year's RICC will once again focus on “research to reality” – R2R, or transitioning university research to the field.  Presentations will align along three parallel tracks that are of great interest to the Gordon-CenSSIS/ALERT/PROTECT community:

-homeland security and defense: sensors and sensor systems
-homeland security and defense: mitigative materials
-environmental health

RICC will also feature keynote addresses from high-level speakers, including:
-Eric Houser: Director, DHS Science & Tech Directorate, Explosives Division
-Alicia Elsetinow: Chief Scientist, Office of Security Technology, TSA
-Bill Suk: Director, Superfund Research Program, National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences
